Seasonal opening: preparing your Elba home for summer
Why opening needs to be prepared before you arrive
After months of winter closure, a home isn't ready to be lived in: the water system may have air in it, the boiler needs time, the pool needs treatments, the indoor air is saturated with humidity. Opening everything on arrival means losing the first day (or three) to calls and waiting.
The best way to start the season is to arrive and find the home already running.
Opening checklist: what we do before you arrive
The checks we run, in order, on every home we reopen:
- ✓Restart water system with full taps and drains check
- ✓Boiler start-up and hot water temperature check
- ✓Reset electrical panel, check main lights and outlets
- ✓Open shutters, full ventilation of every room
- ✓Appliance check (fridge, dishwasher, washing machine, AC)
- ✓Insect screens and window frames check
- ✓Exteriors: terrace cleaning, garden furniture, irrigation
- ✓Pool: level, filters, treatment and water analysis
- ✓Alarm and security systems test
What we flag before your arrival
If during the opening we find anything that needs attention — a leak that appeared over winter, an appliance that won't start, a damaged shutter, a pressure issue — we report it with photos and a proposed intervention, so you can decide before setting foot in the home.
Opening included in the annual service
For clients on an annual plan, seasonal opening is part of the service: we schedule the date based on your arrival and hand over the home ready.
